Full Marathon

Full Marathon 2017-10-26T11:53:59+00:00

The full marathon starts a short distance outside the village (approximately 0.4 miles) and for the first 6 miles is the same as the half marathon route. Full marathon participants then take a left turn and run all the way down to Lough Bunny before turning at 12 miles. The route joins the R460 for a couple of miles before a left turn into Kilmacduagh Monastery (look out for the round tower). A left turn at Tierneevin then leads back towards a second chance to take in the stunning Burren scenery from miles 18 to 20. You will already have run this section during miles 4 to 6. This time just after the 20 mile marker you take a right turn and the remainder of the course is the same as the half marathon all the way back to the finish on the quay in the village.

It is quite an undulating marathon course in places but there are also some long flat sections.

The N-67 is the main road through the village of Kinvara and this will remain open throughout the race with traffic being managed at key junctions. More details on road closures for the full marathon will be posted soon.
